GO-LESS® MEN : A standardised pumpkin seed extract with clinically proven efficacy for urinary comfort
Pumpkin seeds are particularly indicated in cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH affects 50% of men between the ages of 50 and 60 and more than 80% of men over the age of 80, and is associated with a reduced quality of life.
Go-Less® Men is a pumpkin seed extract (Cucurbita pepo) standardised in phenolic derivatives and adenosine, with clinically proven efficacy in reducing the frequency and severity of symptoms associated with BPH, as well as improving quality of life.
A clinical study of 60 men aged 60 to 64 with severe to moderate symptoms of BPH showed that daily supplementation with 500 mg Go-Less® Men for 12 weeks contributed to a significant 28.5% reduction in the frequency of nocturia, associated with a significant 24.6% reduction in post-micturition volume (-20.6 mL) 1.
The effects of Go-Less® Men on quality of life were also investigated using the validated IPSS (International Prostate Symptom Score) questionnaire to determine whether symptoms were mild (score between 1 and 7), moderate (score between 8 and 19) or severe (score between 20 and 35).
Supplementation with Go-Less® Men showed an improvement in quality of life as early as 4 weeks, with a significant reduction in the IPSS score of 19% (p<0.001). After 12 weeks, the overall reduction reached 30.1%, from an IPSS score of 15.7 at the start of the study to 10.8 (p<0.001)1 .
The reduction in the IPSS score was directly linked to significant decreases in micturition frequency (p<0.001), urgency (p<0.001), the presence of a weak urine stream (p<0.001) and the need to make an effort to initiate micturition (p<0.01).
