Description
Bamboo sugar, also called "tabashir", is formed within the stem of Bambusa bambos, a term which means "bark milk" in Sanskrit. Used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, tabashir corresponds to the accretion of minerals in the bamboo stem. Bamboo sugar is particularly rich in silica, and also contains calcium, iron, sodium and potassium. Bamboo tabashir is beneficial for the joints. It contributes to remineralisation and helps combat rheumatism.
Bamboo tabashir also has antispasmodic, antipyretic and aphrodisiac properties.
