Vitamin K2
Chemical name :
Menaquinone
Description
Vitamin K2 is a fat-soluble vitamin, biosynthesized by the bacteria of the intestinal microbiota. This vitamin is also present in food (meat, dairy products, fish) as well as in fermented foods, including nattô (Japanese product made from fermented soybeans).
Vitamin K2 corresponds to a group of 14 molecules called menaquinones (MK), among which MK-7 has an optimal bioavailability.
Vitamin K2 is particularly involved in the renewal of bone tissue. Indeed, this vitamin contributes to the formation of osteoblasts, cells responsible for bone formation and involved in the biosynthesis of bone proteins.
Vitamin K2 therefore plays an important role in bone health, particularly by regulating the body's use of calcium. In fact, a vitamin K2 deficiency is associated with reduced bone density.
Menaquinone is also involved in cardiovascular prevention by preventing calcium from being deposited in the arteries.
In addition, vitamin K2 has a beneficial effect on dental health since it is involved in the activation of osteocalcin, a bone protein that allows the fixation of calcium in the teeth, thus reinforcing their strength.
The benefits
Vitamin K2 contributes to the maintenance of normal bone structure.
The particularities of THERASCIENCE Laboratory
The natural vitamin K2 used by THERASCIENCE Laboratory is present in the form of menaquinone-7, to ensure optimal bioavailability. Moreover, in case of prolonged intake, menaquinone-7 allows an accumulation 7 to 8 times higher than other forms of vitamin K.
THERASCIENCE Laboratory benefits from the patented MenaquinGoldTM, a natural vitamin K2 in the form of menaquinone-7, resulting from a natural fermentation process, which guarantees superior quality and optimal stability.
