Why choose PHYSIOMANCE Vitamin B9 from Laboratoire THERASCIENCE?
A coenzyme form for maximum bioavailability
Vitamin B9 is a water-soluble group B vitamin that is not synthesised by the body. It is therefore necessary to provide it through the diet or food supplements. Vitamin B9 can exist in different forms :
The polyglutamate or folate form, a natural form found in foods (legumes, spinach, liver, wholegrain cereals, etc.) ;
Monoglutamate or folic acid, a synthetic form, mainly found in food supplements ;
The calcium L-methyl-folate form, a coenzyme form found in PHYSIOMANCE Vitamine B9, which is highly bioassimilable.
Once ingested, vitamin B9 undergoes a number of transformations before being assimilated by the enterocytes (intestinal cells) in the form of monoglutamate. In the enterocytes, monoglutamate is converted into calcium L-methylfolate, a form that can be directly absorbed into the circulation and distributed to the body's various cells. Once integrated into the cells, calcium L-methylfolate is converted back into folate, the form that can actually be used by the body. Supplying vitamin B9 in the form of L-methylfolate therefore makes it possible to provide the form that is directly bioabsorbable in the body, so that the vitamin B9 can be used straight away.
Did you know it ?
During foetal development, in the first few weeks of pregnancy, the neural tube is formed. This is an embryonic structure responsible for the normal development of the brain and spinal cord. A defect in the closure or development of the neural tube can cause physical and neurological problems in the unborn child. Research has shown the importance of vitamin B9 supplementation in ensuring the normal development of the neural tube, hence the importance of taking vitamin B9 supplements as soon as the pregnancy is planned and during the first few months of pregnancy.
