2-fucosyllactose is a sugar (oligosaccharide) naturally produced in our body by an enzyme (fucosyl-transferase 2). It is present in abundance in our intestines. Some people are deficient in this enzyme and cannot secrete 2'-fucosyllactose.

2-fucosyllactose is a sugar (oligosaccharide) naturally produced in our body by an enzyme (fucosyl-transferase 2) and is present in abundance in our intestines. It is present in abundance in our intestines and provides a layer of good quality mucus to house the intestinal microbiota and is involved in the good health of the digestive mucosa. Some people are deficient in this enzyme and cannot secrete 2'-fucosyllactose.
