Chlorella
Description
Chlorella is a single-celled green freshwater algae renowned for its richness in proteins, vitamins B1, B6, B12 and E, as well as in minerals and trace elements, including magnesium, iron and zinc, and in omega 3 fatty acids. Its green colour is due to the presence of chlorophyll, a pigment with a prebiotic effect that encourages the colonisation of the intestines by "good" bacteria.
Chlorella offers many health benefits. Thanks to its carotenoids, this algae stimulates the immune system and also reduces oxidative stress, particularly in the retina.
Its high protein content is ideal for athletes and helps improve endurance and recovery.
Chlorella also has a detoxifying action that helps the body eliminate toxic waste, especially heavy metals such as lead, arsenic and mercury.
In addition, chlorella helps to fight against fatigue thanks to its vitamin C content. It also promotes the production of melatonin, the "sleep hormone", as well as serotonin, commonly called the "happiness hormone".
