Molybdenum

exemple Molybdène

Description

Molybdenum is a trace element found in food, particularly in cereals, pulses and garlic, but also in dairy products, kidneys and liver.

At the biochemical level, molybdenum is involved in the structure of cofactors whose role is to ensure the proper functioning of enzymes specifically involved in the metabolism of purine bases necessary for the synthesis of nucleotides, the chemical building blocks of DNA and RNA.

In addition, other enzymes requiring a molybdenum cofactor are involved in the metabolism of sulphur-containing amino acids and the oxidation of sulphites. These enzymes are essential for the proper functioning of the body.

The benefits

Bien que méconnu, le molybdène est un oligo-élément essentiel au bon fonctionnement de l'organisme. Il contribue au métabolisme normal des acides aminés soufrés.
