Hyaluronic acid
Description
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule naturally produced by many cells in the body. This polysaccharide is present in connective tissues, dermis, joints and eyes. Hyaluronic acid contributes to the elasticity and hydration of the skin, but also to the flexibility of cartilage.
Hyaluronic acid acts as a molecular sponge capable of maintaining water in the tissues, thus preventing skin dryness and loss of vitality.
However, its quantity and quality diminish with age. Faced with external aggressions and damage caused by free radicals, responsible for the premature aging of cells, the skin dries out and loses its firmness, which promotes the appearance of wrinkles.
Thanks to its water retention capacity, hyaluronic acid is used in cosmetics to fight against skin aging, as well as in rheumatology, particularly in the treatment of arthritis.
The benefits
Hyaluronic acid preserves the skin's hydration, tone and elasticity.
